What’s a Tank?
Tanks are on-chain digital assets players can collect, arm and battle.
Tanks are equipped specific traits that determine their aesthetics and attack mechanics, the physical appearance of Tanks does not play a role on gameplay performance. Tank Flags determine the weapon packs equipped, these contain specific ammunition types to determine attack style, power and blast radius, which helps players strategize different attack mechanics to defeat their opponents.
Weapon Packs
There are five different weapon pack classes each with five class specific pre-determined artillery systems.
Each weapon pack has 5 weapons
- 1 Shielding (defensive)
- 1 Reconnaissance (high radius + low impact)
- 3 Explosive (low radius + high impact)
Here’s the available munitions:
💥 Power Pack
An all American fire power weapon pack that is guaranteed to arm your tank with state of the art human ammunition to destroy any opponent.
⚡️ Energy Pack
Energy based weaponry that harnesses the power of lasers, beams and lightning strikes that will electrify and shock your foe.
🌀 Plasma Pack
An arsenal of super heated matter so hot that electrons are ripped away from the atoms forming deadly ionized artillery.
☢️ Nuclear Pack
Chemical weapon pack of unparalleled destructive power, with lethal fusion blasts, shock waves and radioactive fallout.
⚛️ Quantum Pack
Mystical weaponization of hyperspatial and sub-atomic particles with fatal forces that will subdue any adversary.
Battles
Token Tanks is a skill based play to earn game built on the Ethereum blockchain. The Token Tanks team began developing the battle system in early 2021 and the alpha is expected to be release by late 2021. As we grow our community we anticipate that tank battles will undergo several iterations, as such we expect to continually release variations of the battle game play to adopt more engaging mechanics.
The tank battle system is a turn-based artillery game where the goal is to score as many attack point on your opponent. Each turn a player must strategically select the barrel aiming angle, power and fire to maximize the score of inflicted damage to their opponent.
Due to in-game attack mechanics, reconnaissance weaponry is used at the beginning of the battle or after undergoing tank displacing attacks to effectively aim and identify the required force to hit your opponent. Higher impact explosive weapons are used to inflict as much damage as possible on your foe, while shielding artillery is used to protect yourself from incoming projectiles or to obstruct your opponents fire spectrum possibly reducing their damage score count.
Tips
- If you had effectively identified the required angle and power to hit your target but your tank was displaced by your opponents attack try to only use your power to counter, the less variables involved the better the chances of hitting your enemy.
- Go to Target Practice (PVE) mode to test your weapons and familiarize yourself with your Tank’s attacks so your can effectively strategize for battle
- Pay attention to your opponents Tank Flag, each weapon pack has an assigned color and flag’s reveal the tank’s equipped fire power, this will help you anticipate potential attacks and design a better battle plan accordingly.
$SHELL, Armory and Building
Token Tanks is one of the many iterations of the classic Artillery game mechanic, which is nearly as old as video games themselves, we share a familiar mechanic where the player sets the trajectory and power of his shot to demolish the enemy tanks. We are reminiscing childhood PC gaming as we evolve the game play mechanics into a tactical artillery game that rewards its players for the time spent playing and growing the ecosystem. All game assets and resources are tokenized, meaning players are able to monetize from item sales on p2p markets.
AMMO
Short for ammunition, before deploying your tank for battle you will need Ammo for your weapons. Battles are turn based, consisting of a ten round shoot out between opponents, prior to each battle tankers will require 10 rounds of Ammo to access the battlefield and engage in combat. You need Ammo to earn SHELL in the battlefield.
Both Tanks and AMMO are stored in the Armory, each Tank has a maximum capacity of Ammo storage of 200 rounds, reloaded at a rate of 50 Ammo every 6 hours. This is important because without ammo Tanks cannot participate in battles.
$SHELL
Token Tank Shells (SHELL) are an ERC-20 token, SHELL holders will be able to claim rewards, build new tanks, and participate in key governance votes regarding Token Tank’s future direction. In-game, players will acquire SHELL through combat victories, they will be recouped and rewarded from ammo projectiles fired during battles. The amount of SHELL players can earn from defeating opponents in battle will depend on the tank’s military rank, a higher rank yields more SHELL from victories. More details regarding the amount of SHELL awarded per win will be released once the token contracts are live.
Armory, Blue Prints and Building
The armory is the military base where tanks are stored, weapon packs are bought, ammo is reloaded and new tanks are built.
Tanks are built using in-game resources, both $SHELL and tank blueprints are required.
Each tank has a unique blue print that determines the tank’s Track, Side Skirt, Body, Hatch, Barrel, Muzzle and Class. The tank’s flags determines the vehicle’s class which specifies the weapon packs equipped.
Building a new tank requires two unique blueprints and SHELL, the amount of SHELL depends on the amount of times the blueprints have been used. When building new tanks, players can select two weapon packs from the available options in the blue prints to arm their vehicles, this will guarantee that tanks are built with complementing weaponry that enhances battle performance.
To maintain a sustainable army growth and prevent hyperinflation of Tanks there is a maximum amount of times blueprints can be used to build more Tanks.
Long term, Token Tank’s Army growth management relies on community involvement, it is important to note that a sustainable Token Tank ecosystem is driven by demand for Tanks, which is ultimately what also drives demand for $SHELL. We’ll be actively looking to increase community involvement in order to enrich our gaming dynamics and add value and purpose to Tank ownership.
